Position Title: Fire Recruit
Location: Pima AZ
Reports To: Fire Training Captain
Summary
This position is responsible for responding to medical emergencies, fires, and rescue incidents while providing professional emergency medical care and protecting lives and property. Firefighters also participate in technical rescue, hazardous materials response, fire prevention, public education, and ongoing training to maintain and expand their skills.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide high-quality patient care.
- Protect lives and property through fire suppression and rescue operations.
- Participate in technical rescue, hazardous materials response, and public safety operations.
- Serve the community through fire prevention, public education, and community outreach.
- Train continuously to develop the knowledge and skills of a professional firefighter.
Qualifications:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current AZ State or National Registry EMT or Paramedic certification
- Current CPR certification
- ACLS certification (Paramedic applicants)
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy. DUI within last 5 years is disqualifying.
- Ability to successfully complete the Rural Metro Fire Academy
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency assignments
Not Required
- Firefighter I or II certification
- Hazardous Materials certification
- Prior firefighting experience
Work-Life Balance
- During the academy the schedule is a 40 hour work week, 3/4 shift schedule after academy is completed

Pay Range:
- $51,000 - $61,000
