Electrical Site Manager

Job Summary:

The Electrical Site Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and providing technical direction for electrical construction and engineering activities on large-scale industrial projects. This role includes electrical construction planning, site execution, engineering coordination, safety management, quality control, schedule control, cost management, inspection support, troubleshooting, and project closeout.

The position requires highly specialized experience in mission-critical industrial facilities, including semiconductor manufacturing plants, data centers, EV battery facilities, cleanroom facilities, and dry room construction. The Electrical Site Manager plays an essential role in ensuring that electrical work is completed safely, accurately, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost & Schedule Control for Projects
• Develop and manage project budgets, tracking labor, material, and subcontractor costs.
• Monitor project schedules, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure electrical work is completed on time and within budget by coordinating resources and subcontractors effectively.
• Prepare cost forecasts, progress reports, and variance analyses for management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of electrical equipment and materials.
• Conduct regular project review meetings to align scope, budget, and schedule expectations with clients and internal teams.
2. Electrical Construction Management
• Manage and supervise electrical construction activities at project sites.
• Coordinate field installation work, including power distribution systems, conduit and cable installation, lighting systems, grounding systems, equipment hook-up, control wiring, transformers, switchgear, panelboards, and related electrical systems.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, installation details, and field conditions to ensure proper execution of the work.
• Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, engineering firms, inspectors, and client representatives.
• Provide technical direction to field teams and support resolution of complex construction and engineering issues.
• Ensure electrical construction work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements
3. Electrical Engineering and Design Coordination
• Plan, design, and install electrical systems for new construction, remodeling, and maintenance projects.
• Ensure electrical systems meet national, state, and local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, process, fire protection, and other trade disciplines.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate electrical drawings using AutoCAD, including power layouts, lighting layouts, grounding layouts, conduit routing, equipment hook-up details, panel schedules, and single-line diagrams.
• Use BIM (Building Information Modeling) coordination to review electrical system layouts and identify design conflicts, equipment clearance issues, installation conflicts, and constructability concerns prior to field installation.
• Prepare and support technical documents, including RFIs, material submittals, field sketches, as-built drawings, engineering coordination documents, and project closeout documents.
4. Safety Management and Compliance
• Enforce company safety requirements, OSHA standards, and project-specific safety policies at all job sites.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses, toolbox talks, safety inspections, and field safety observations.
• Ensure that electrical work is performed with proper PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
• Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Promote a proactive safety culture by mentoring field teams and reinforcing safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, including OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E, NEC requirements, and state and local regulations.
5. Inspection & Troubleshooting:
• Inspect electrical installations to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with code.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty wiring, circuits, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and solve complex electrical problems across residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
6. Project Management & Leadership:
• Supervise and mentor junior electricians and apprentices, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Manage the scheduling, budgeting, and procurement of electrical materials for projects.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members on complex electrical issues.
7. Code Compliance & Safety:
• Stay updated on electrical codes, regulations, and new technologies.
• Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), regulations, and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, conducting regular safety checks.
8. Client & Stakeholder Communication:
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
• Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, and team members.
• Generate reports on project status, cost estimates, and progress.
9. Maintenance & Repairs:
• Perform ongoing maintenance of electrical systems to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
• Respond to service calls and emergency situations, offering solutions for electrical repairs.
10. Training & Development:
• Provide training to junior staff on electrical techniques, safety, and code compliance.
• Attend ongoing professional development and certification programs to stay current with industry advancements.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience:
• Minimum of15 years of experience in electrical construction and engineering.
• Experience managing electrical engineering and construction activities for large-scale projects valued at over$1B required.
• Experience in electrical engineering and construction for critical industrial projects, such as semiconductor, data center, and EV battery facilities, required.
• Hands-on experience with electrical engineering and construction for cleanroom and dry room environments, including power distribution, equipment hook-up, grounding, lighting, controls, and coordination with mechanical and process systems required.
• Proven experience with complex electrical systems and .
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large engineering and construction teams on complex industrial projects required.
• Licensing/Certifications:
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Additional certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEC compliance) may be preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong design capability using AutoCAD for electrical construction and engineering drawings.
• Ability to prepare, review, and coordinate electrical drawings, including power layouts, lighting layouts, grounding layouts, conduit routing, equipment hook-up details, panel schedules, and single-line diagrams.
• Capability to use BIM (Building Information Modeling) for electrical system coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical, process, and other trade disciplines.
• Ability to review BIM models to identify design conflicts, installation issues, equipment clearance requirements, and constructability concerns prior to field installation.
• Ability to prepare, review, and support technical documents, including as-built drawings, RFIs, material submittals, field sketches, engineering coordination documents, and project closeout documents.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, construction standards, and safety practices applicable to industrial electrical construction.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills for complex electrical systems and field construction issues.
• Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate blueprints, electrical schematics, specifications, technical manuals, and vendor drawings.
• Ability to support large-scale industrial projects by coordinating electrical design, field installation, technical documentation, schedule requirements, quality requirements, and project execution needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Comfortable working in tight spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions.
• Capable of standing, kneeling, crouching, or climbing ladders for extended periods.

Work Environment:

• The Electrical Site Manager will work at the site office as well as in a of settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
• The position may also involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions and at multiple locations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program in electrical work or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• Must have 6 years of verifiable experience in the electrical trade AND a training course in electrical work OR an additional 2 years of verifiable experience
