To strengthen our motivated Talent Attraction Team at our Bradord plant, we are looking for a passionate Lithographic Printer on our Heidelberg Speedmaster XL106.
The Lithographic Printer will operate, maintain, and optimise the printing press, ensuring high-quality printed products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer specifications, production schedules, and company quality standards.
Your Role- You will set up and operate the Heidelberg XL 106 press in line with production requirements.
- You will read and interpret job tickets, specifications, colour standards, and customer requirements.
- You will prepare printing plates, inks, coatings, substrates, and ancillary equipment for production runs.
- You will monitor press performance throughout production and make adjustments as required.
- You will achieve colour consistency using densitometers, spectrophotometers, and press control systems.
- You will minimise makeready times and material waste whilst maintaining quality standards.
- You will ensure jobs are produced within agreed production targets and deadlines.
- You will conduct quality checks throughout each production run.
- You will monitor colour accuracy, registration, print quality, varnish application, and finishing requirements.
- You will identify and rectify all printing defects.
- You will maintain GMP, ISO, BRC, or other relevant quality standards where applicable.
- You will perform routine press maintenance and cleaning activities.
- You will report equipment faults or breakdowns to engineering and management teams.
- You will maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- You will follow all company health and safety procedures.
- You will wear required PPE and promote safe working practices.
- You will support waste reduction and environmental improvement initiatives.
- You will support training and development of assistant printers and junior operators.
- You will assist with any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or production manager.
- You have prior experience operating print machines, or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- You have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- You have strong attention to detail.
- You have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- You have the ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, and job tickets.
- You have good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- You are cooperative and willing to learn cross-functionally.
- You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring a high standard of quality control.
- You have the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- You are reliable and possess an excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
- You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- You have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- You have basic computer skills.
