Job Description

Utilize Data Classification tools to automatically scan, discover, and classify structured data based on sensitivity levels and potential impact. Utilize Data Encryption tools to encrypt structured data identified to contain sensitive data and decrypt the databases that are encrypted when the sensitive data has been removed to save encryption licenses. Help County with the Azure cloud migration of on premises database servers to reduce cost and increase efficiency. Support Oracle and SQL Server databases from 2016 and up throughout the county.


Essential Duties
  • Management Reporting: Help upper management with the number of servers/databases being monitored by extracting data, building data pipelines and reports.

  • Use Visio to make connection flow diagrams.

  • Use PowerShell scripting to get various information from all SQL servers using automated jobs.

  • Experience in managing and leading technical projects.

  • Proven ability to make responsible decisions.

  • Provide directions to peers and customers.

  • Oversee and monitor results.

  • Advanced SQL Server (2016 and higher) experience in enterprise-wide database administration, installation, upgrade and configuration, advanced troubleshooting, advanced tuning/optimization, and capacity planning.

  • Oracle 19c database and administration, and RMAN recovery experience.

  • Oracle Database Appliance experience.

Public Speaking Duties
  • Present change requests for approvals in weekly CAB reviews
  • Participate in Know Your Environment sessions
  • Participate in vendor and interdepartmental meetings and discussions on key projects  
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories, and fingerprinting. 
  • This job requires fingerprinting.
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Grade
The grade for this position is C451. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
 
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field AND
  • Five years of progressively responsible, professional level analyst and systems experience in a large-scale Information Technology environment;
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid Driver’s License from state of residency
