Responsibilities

·        Develop and implement proactive recruitment strategies to attract healthcare professionals across various levels, with a primary focus on nursing titles including CNAs, LPNs, and RNs, while supporting additional healthcare recruitment needs based on operational and business demands.

·        Recruit, screen, interview, and assess healthcare candidates to evaluate qualifications, employment readiness, behavioral competencies, and overall fit for healthcare employer partner needs.

·        Match nursing and healthcare candidates with appropriate employment opportunities based on clinical background, employer requirements, scheduling needs, credentialing status, and workforce readiness.

·        Review and evaluate candidate resumes and profiles to ensure candidates meet employer qualifications, credentialing standards, and placement readiness requirements.

·        Serve as a specialized recruitment resource for nursing-related recruitment initiatives within the Employment and Job Placement Division.

·        Support recruitment and placement activities for additional healthcare and allied health titles as needed to support departmental priorities and workforce demands.

·        Work closely with the Career Services team to support nursing and healthcare candidates with job readiness, interview preparation, resume support, and workforce transition services to strengthen placement outcomes.

·        Collaborate closely with the Job Security Fund (JSF), Career Services, and Employer Relations & Placement teams to support laid-off or transitioning healthcare professionals seeking re-entry into the workforce.

·        Verify professional licenses, certifications, and credentialing requirements through appropriate New York State licensing and credential verification systems, ensuring compliance with employer and regulatory standards.

·        Build and maintain strong working relationships with Human Resources leaders, Nursing Directors, healthcare employers, union representatives, and workforce development partners to support successful placement outcomes.

·        Coordinate and manage recruitment workflows within Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), including iCIMS, ensuring accurate documentation, candidate tracking, reporting, and workflow progression.

·        Monitor recruitment activity, candidate pipelines, placement outcomes, referral quality, and other key performance indicators related to healthcare recruitment initiatives.

·        Partner with internal teams to identify workforce trends, hiring barriers, and recruitment needs to improve placement outcomes and support workforce development strategies.

·        Assist in developing recruitment materials, employer outreach content, and job advertisements for internal and external postings to support candidate attraction efforts.

·        Represent the Employment and Job Placement Division at healthcare hiring events, networking functions, workforce development initiatives, and industry-related recruitment activities.

·        Ensure adherence to Fund policies, recruitment standards, Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) considerations, and compliance requirements while contributing to the continuous improvement of recruitment and placement processes.

·        Provide a high level of customer service, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and candidate support throughout the recruitment and placement process.

·        Willingness to travel throughout the five boroughs, Hudson Valley, White Plains, and Long Island as needed to support recruitment, employer engagement, and placement activities

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.

·        Minimum of two (2) years of high-volume healthcare recruitment, talent acquisition, workforce development, or related experience required, preferably within healthcare, workforce development, nonprofit, hospital, or long-term care environments.

·        Experience recruiting and placing nursing professionals, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, strongly preferred.

·        Current or former RN or LPN licensure highly preferred.  

·        Knowledge of healthcare recruitment practices, credentialing requirements, healthcare staffing considerations, and healthcare workforce trends preferred.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), including iCIMS or similar platforms.

·        Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage candidates, employers, union representatives, and internal stakeholders.

·        Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with diverse stakeholders while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality.

·        Demonstrated client-centered approach with emotional intelligence and the ability to effectively support healthcare professionals throughout the recruitment and placement process.
