Newrest Iceland is looking for a Robot maintenance technician to join its teams at KEFLAVIK airport, Iceland. You will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of all the assets of the unit, including:
- Automated Pick and Pack Line
- Automated Tray Set Up Line
- All equipment at the Facility
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Robot & Production Equipment Maintenance
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to the maintenance plan defined by the Maintenance Manager.
- Perform corrective (curative) maintenance on robotic and automated systems: diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair.
- Report all interventions and findings in the Maintenance software (Fracttal).
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment under supervision.
- Assist in continuous improvement actions by providing technical feedback from the field.
- Monitor and report spare parts consumption related to robotic systems.
- Support production operators in first-level maintenance and proper equipment use.
- Facility & General Maintenance
- Carry out preventive maintenance operations on all site equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair on installations (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, kitchen equipment, MHE, ventilation, etc.).
- Use the Maintenance software (Fracttal) to record maintenance activities and interventions.
- Assist external service providers during maintenance operations when required.
- Ensure proper execution of work orders issued by the Maintenance Manager.
- Participate in equipment installation (mechanical assembly, energy connections, adjustments).
- Maintain tools and spare parts storage in good order and report stock needs.
- Follow safety, QHSE and company procedures.
- Report recurring issues or risks to the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications
- Maintenance experience, minimum 2 years.
- Good level of English, oral and in writing. Icelandic is a plus.
- Experience in automated production lines or robotics is a strong advantage but not a requirement.
- Good general technical competence.
- Practical and willing to learn new things.

- Good communication skills.
- Ability to diagnose faults and perform corrective repairs.
- Hands-on and solution-oriented mindset.
- Autonomous but able to follow instructions.
- Organized and rigorous in reporting interventions.
- Team player, able to work with production teams.
- Safe use of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Adaptable and flexible (industrial environment, shift work).
Competencies
- Knowledge in: Industrial mechanics, Pneumatics, Basic electrical systems, Sensors and actuators, Conveyors and automated systems.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong safety awareness.
Clean criminal background check according to Icelandic airport regulations and certificate of health for working in a food processing facility.
