Icelandair is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team. This role plays a key part in ensuring that cargo warehouse operations remain fully compliant with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and industry best practices within the aviation and cargo sectors. We are looking for a motivated and responsible individual with excellent communication skills and a strong passion for safety, quality, and training, who can contribute to continuous improvement and help foster a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for Dangerous Goods and other special cargo handling requirements.
  • Ensure cargo warehouse personnel have access to the Icelandair Ground and Cargo Operations Manual (GOM) and other applicable operational instructions.
  • Coordinate and oversee training programs to ensure compliance with company requirements and applicable regulations, including Dangerous Goods, Safety Management System (SMS), and security training.
  • Develop and support corrective action plans related to operational non-conformities within the cargo warehouse.
  • Conduct regular checks and observations and advise management on any shortcomings or opportunities for improvement in cargo handling operations.
  • Ensure cargo acceptance procedures and Manuals remain compliant with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure all safety and security-related events and incidents are properly reported through established channels.
  • Participation in and oversight of quality and safety audit.
  • Liaise with other airlines and various departments within Icelandair.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cargo operations, aviation, logistics, or a related environment.
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations and handling procedures is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience with compliance, quality assurance, training, or safety management is an advantage.
