This is a remote position.
Design Hire is seeking a E&IC Engineer to support control system modernization work within complex, highly regulated facilities. This role is a strong fit for someone with hands-on controls design experience who understands how field devices, networked control components, and system architecture connect into a complete engineering package.
Key Responsibilities
• Design replacement control system solutions for aging, obsolete, or failing equipment and components. • Develop engineering packages that support contractor installation, system integration, and commissioning. • Integrate new devices and control designs into existing distributed control system environments. • Document network-related details such as device configuration, communication requirements, and system interface points. • Coordinate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams to maintain reliability, safety, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or a related technical discipline. • 5+ years of E&IC, controls, systems, operations, or maintenance engineering experience. • Strong background with DCS architecture, control system communication, and networked device integration. • Experience supporting utility, power generation, nuclear, or heavy industrial facilities preferred. • Ability to design control solutions from the component level through full system integration. • Understanding of cybersecurity considerations related to industrial control systems. • Prior experience with major DCS platforms preferred. • Strong technical documentation, problem-solving, communication, and follow-through skills.
