PC TECHNICIAN

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Worksite: Special Operations Mission Training Center, Fort Bragg
Employment Type: Full-time
Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required

Position Summary

The PC Technician provides enterprise desktop and end-user support for SOMTC training and operational activities. This position troubleshoots computer hardware and software, configures network workstations, supports IT-system operation and security, and documents and resolves reported incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop and end-user technical support in an enterprise environment.
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware, software, operating-system, and connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, validate, maintain, and secure network workstations.
  • Support computer hardware, software, peripherals, printers, and related user devices.
  • Support IT-system operation, maintenance, and security.
  • Identify hardware and software faults and perform or coordinate corrective actions.
  • Document, track, research, and resolve reported incidents and service requests.
  • Apply applicable workstation and endpoint-security requirements.
  • Support the interoperability of Army and Joint Mission Command systems.
  • Coordinate with system administrators, network administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide responsive customer support to Government personnel and training participants.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in an Information Technology-related field; or
  • At least four years of professional IT experience.
  • Experience providing IT support in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of the interoperability of Army or Joint Mission Command systems.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Computer-networking concepts and protocols.
  • Cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Physical computer components and basic IT architecture.
  • IT-system operation, maintenance, and security.
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Configuration and validation of network workstations.
  • Incident documentation, tracking, and research.
  • Enterprise customer and desktop support.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.

Certification Requirements

  • Current certification meeting the requirements for the DCWF Client Systems Technician, Work Role 411, at the Basic proficiency level.
  • The required certification must be maintained throughout employment.

Work Environment and Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed on-site in Government-controlled facilities.
  • Must comply with applicable DoD, Army, USSOCOM, USASOC, installation, cybersecurity, personnel-security, CAC, and information-system access requirements.
  • Mission requirements may require work beyond normal operating hours, occasional weekend support, surge support, or support for simultaneous events.
  • Telework requires prior Government approval.
  • Classified work is not normally authorized from an alternate worksite.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support mission activities.
