We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Tech Lead to join our team at the Daimler Truck Innovation Center India Private Limited. In the TT/S36-53 department, you will play a crucial role in the simulation and development of performance and emission standards for FIS, engines, and exhaust after-treatment systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the virtual vehicle simulation platform meets the highest industry standards.
- Lead and oversee simulation projects, ensuring compliance with engine performance and emission standards.
- Manage the engine and after-treatment management system, including calibration and validation processes.
- Conduct comprehensive simulation tests, including FTP, WHTC, NRTC, WHSC, ESC, and full-load/part-load performance assessments.
- Complete understanding of Engine Performance and emission Standards for Euro V, VI and Eu7.
- Complete understanding of Fuel Injection System
- Understanding, calibration & optimization of Rail pressure governing, Injector Quantity Adjustment, OBFCM
- Complete understanding of LCM & perform warranty calculations of FIS components for useful life
- Understanding and calibrating for performing Cylinder Balancing
- Understanding of Engine Control Unit for engine & FIS
- Perform statistical analysis and ensure the integrity of test data, maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Process and analyze test data, identifying root causes and releasing datasets for further evaluation.
- Validate engine calibration activities, simulating various conditions such as hot, cold, and altitude climates.
- Participate in regular technical reviews, providing expert insights and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in emission control technologies and after-treatment devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engine management systems, FIE suppliers, and interface tool experts.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 9+ years of experience in FIS/diesel engine development and calibration for automotive or off-highway applications.
- Proven experience with Tier I suppliers for engine management systems, FIE suppliers, and interface tools/software (INCA, ATI Vision, Delphi VISU).
- In-depth knowledge of engine performance and emission standards, as well as engine and after-treatment management systems.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Familiarity with virtual vehicle simulation platforms and their applications in automotive development.
- Good understanding of automotive (CV) and off-highway industries, including emission control technologies.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
- Proficiency in scripting: Matlab, Python
- Proficiency in modeling: MATLAB/Simulink
- Hands-on Data analysis using Diadem/Uniplot/AVL concerto.
