About This Role:

The Prince William County Tax Administration Office is seeking highly motivated customer service representatives to fill a Taxpayer Services Specialist position in our fast-paced call center. We are looking for positive, team-oriented individuals who can provide professional support to a diverse customer base, including residents and business owners. As a key member of our team, you will assist taxpayers by phone and email, helping to update, open, and close various tax accounts. You will also process tax-related documents and provide accurate information on personal property, real estate, business licenses, and other tax matters. This role is primarily remote but may require in-office work as needed.


What You Will Do:

  • Respond to taxpayer inquiries via phone and email.
  • Update, open, and close tax accounts.
  • Process business-related tax returns and personal property declarations.
  • Research and resolve customer concerns in accordance with Prince William County tax laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and document customer interactions.
  • Utilize various software systems, including the Tax Administration system and Microsoft Office.


Minimum Requirements: 
 High school diploma or G.E.D


Preferences:

  • 2 years of experience in data processing 
  • Experience working in a call center.
  • Experience working in the public sector
  • Experience handling confidential information
  • Experience answering tax-related questions based on state and local laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances. 
  • Experience answering collection-related questions based on state and local laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances. 
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish


Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, there are two shifts: 8:00 to 4:30 and 8:30 to 5:00, to be determined by your supervisor. During busy periods, you may need to work beyond your scheduled time. (Primarily teleworking after in-office training)


Special Requirements:

The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background check.  
 

Hiring Salary Range: $24.62-$30.00 Hourly, dependent upon experience
