Job Description

The Event Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all events, banquets, conferences, and special functions in line with the property’s service standards. This role requires exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills to deliver seamless and memorable experiences for guests, while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Oversee the planning and execution of all banquet functions, events, weddings, conferences, meetings, and social gatherings.
  • Conduct detailed discussions with clients to understand requirements, expectations, and budgets.
  • Prepare detailed event orders (BEOs), timelines, and floor plans.
  • Coordinate with various departments (kitchen, housekeeping, AV/IT, front office, etc.) to ensure smooth event delivery.

Operations & Execution

  • Supervise event setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring standards of quality and timeliness are maintained.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the event and handle special requests or complaints promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and licensing regulations.
  • Oversee inventory management for event supplies, equipment, and linens.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, train, and motivate event staff, ensuring service standards and grooming guidelines are met.
  • Prepare staffing schedules based on business forecasts and event requirements.
  • Conduct regular briefings, pre-event meetings, and post-event evaluations with the team.
  • Encourage a positive work culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and guest service excellence.

Client Relations & Sales Support

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, event organizers, and vendors.
  • Assist the Sales & Marketing team in promoting event facilities and services to potential clients.
  • Participate in site inspections, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Follow up with clients post-event to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in banquet/event management within a hotel, resort, or event venue.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
  • Proficiency in banquet/event management software, MS Office, and POS systems.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
