About the Opportunity

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will partner closely with Senior HR Business Partners and HR Business Partners to deliver responsive, high-quality and proactive HR support to employees and leaders across the organisation. You will play a key role in the effective delivery of people management initiatives, workforce planning activities, position and establishment management, and annual HR programs.

Working with a high degree of autonomy within established frameworks, you will provide trusted advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, Enterprise Agreement provisions and relevant employment legislation. You will apply sound judgement to interpret complex information, identify potential risks and compliance matters, and develop practical, client-focused solutions that support consistent and compliant people practices.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, and is passionate about delivering exceptional HR services that contribute to organisational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and timely HR advice to employees and leaders on a broad range of people matters, ensuring compliance with policies, enterprise agreements and employment legislation.
  • Support workforce planning and position management activities, including contract management, workforce reporting, vacancy monitoring and data analysis.
  • Coordinate recruitment approvals within ATS (Smart Recruiters) and position management processes, ensuring information is accurate, compliant and aligned with organisational requirements.
  • Assist with position classification and organisational design activities, providing guidance to managers and coordinating stakeholder engagement.
  • Support the delivery of key annual HR programs and initiatives, including promotions, employee engagement and workforce development activities.
  • Provide coordination and administrative support for employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace change and injury management processes.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and key stakeholders to deliver responsive, customer-focused HR services.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing HR processes, systems, reporting and resources to drive efficiency and service excellence.

About you

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills and experience working with HR data, reporting and workforce information to support decision-making.
  • The ability to interpret policies and procedures, identify risks and provide practical, solutions-focused advice.
  • A collaborative approach, with a commitment to delivering responsive, professional and customer-focused HR services.

This is a full time, fixed term opportunity for 6 months based at the Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations

Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary

HEW 6 – Base range - $94,966.18 - $101,295.51 + 17% superannuation. Full package range - $111,110.42 - $118,515.75.
