University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill, NCFull TimeMid-levelPosted Yesterday
The Wang Lab is recruiting a postdoctoral research associate with expertise in computational genomics and bioinformatics focusing on long-read sequencing analysis. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing NIH-funded research analyzing nanopore DNA and RNA sequencing in the context of variant calling and analysis to support molecular diagnostics in pediatric cancer. A primary focus will be development of novel informatics tools for multi-scale variant calling, integration, and interpretation of variants in nanopore DNA sequencing, including SNVs, CNVs, SVs, and epigenomic markers.

Demonstrated expertise in computational analysis of long-read sequencing data (ex. ONT, Pacbio), including variant calling (SNV, copy-number profiling, structural variation), quality control, and interpretation of germline and somatic variants.

1 year of experience in computational genomics and molecular diagnostics. Microbiome/metagenomic sequencing analysis experience is a plus.
