Summary

Parks and Recreation/Hawks Nest State Park This individual works under general supervision of the Superintendent and at the full performance level with responsibilities including: electrical, plumbing, maintenance, alterations and repairs to equipment within Hawks Nest State Park, which includes, 30 room hotel, restaurant, pool, day-use areas, residences, vehicle fleet, aerial tramway and associated facilities. Will be required to learn the proper operation and maintenance of the tramway which includes climbing towers of heights up to 150 feet as well as work from the outside maintenance car. This position will work closely with the tramway supervisor. Duties and work assignments may include but not limited to: scheduling maintenance, repairing and performing preventative care to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, vehicle repair, communication hardware and software, refrigeration and cooking appliances and associated repairs within the operation of the park facility. Working knowledge of AC/DC, single phase, 3-phase circuits, communication, switches, relays, and solid-state circuitry is preferred. May repair, install, and upgrade electrical and communication systems with the facility. Knowledge of metal fabrication and welding preferred. Employee will complete reports and daily maintenance logs. This person must act as lead person with projects and work crews. Individual works closely with contractors, service representatives to perform specialized services. Employee must have working knowledge of proper work standards and practices of electrical, plumbing, and general building repair practices. Monitors and maintains proper operation of facility systems, read gauges and meters, Monitors and maintains records of proper service and compliance within State and Federal Regulations. Employee works within proper safety practices and standards. This employee must be able to make accurate arithmetic calculations and measurements and work from blueprints, drawings, and on site project sketches. This self motivated individual must work well with minimal guidance and instruction. Individual will assist with grounds-keeping, general janitorial care, other duties as assigned with general operation of park facilities care and repairs including, but not limited to: mowing and trimming, shoveling snow, raking leaves and carrying luggage. Employee must have ability to perform tasks for considerable periods of time and work from scaffolding, ladders and roof areas. This employee must wear a supplied uniform. May travel and stay overnight for training and associated work assignments. Individual may work a fluctuating schedule to ensure coverage and service to the tourist facility. Performs related work as assigned. Regular attendance is required.

Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in building equipment repair including work in heating, ventilation and cooling.
 
Special Requirement: Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the Clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling. Supplemental information
