The Legal Entity Reporting (CoE) is responsible for delivering accurate and timely statutory financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and applicable local GAAP requirements for multiple international legal entities. The position involves close collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders, partnering with Tax and cross-functional teams.
Support Preparation of financial statements for Statutory and Other reporting in accordance with IFRS and applicable local statutory reporting requirements.
Perform US GAAP to Local GAAP reconciliations and analyze significant accounting adjustments.
Support statutory audits by coordinating with external auditors and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely audit completion.
Support the research and interpretation on accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging legislation to ensure reporting compliance.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams across American Express to support financial statement preparation and statutory reporting.
Maintain a strong control environment by adhering to governance, risk management, and internal control requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation, standardization, and operational excellence.
Support ad hoc financial reporting, analysis, and special projects as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA) or equivalent with relevant experience.
1–3 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, financial reporting, statutory reporting, or audit.
Functional Skills:
Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in statutory reporting, financial reporting, or statutory audit.
Good understanding of IFRS and local GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
Experience in process improvement, standardization, or reporting transitions is desirable.
Technical & AI Skills:
High proficiency in MS-Office applications, working knowledge of Essbase/analytical software, Oracle.
Knowledge of Workiva Wdesk & HFM is preferred.
Familiarity with emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI) and their application to reporting.
Hands-on experience developing analytics using data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, or similar platforms).
