Froid des Mascareignes (FDM) is a cold-storage company exclusively dedicated to seafood product storage which also offers packing and export services.

The cluster represents IBL’s investments in the vertically integrated Mauritian tuna value chain. Being a considerable source of revenue for the group, as well as an important forex earner for the country, IBL Seafood will soon be converting its effluent into energy through Energie des Mascareignes, making its tuna operations the island’s first zero-waste industry from the fish caught to the final co-products, thus contributing to IBL’s sustainability objectives. Marine Biotechnology Products Côte d’Ivoire is part of the Cluster’s international expansion.


Job Purpose
The Human Capital Officer is responsible for providing operational and administrative support across all Human Capital functions to ensure the effective management of the employee lifecycle. The role supports the organisation in attracting, developing, engaging and retaining talent while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies and best Human Capital practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Assistant Human Capital Manager in the day-to-day management of HR operations.
• Support the implementation and communication of Human Capital policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Manage employee relations matters and provide guidance to the management team, supervisors and employees on HR policies and procedures.
• Handle disciplinary processes, including investigations, preparation of documentation, and participation in disciplinary hearings.
• Liaise with union representatives when required and support management in maintaining constructive industrial relations.
• Monitor employee attendance, leave management, and compliance with company rules and regulations.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new employees.
• Coordinate training and development activities to support employee performance and operational needs.
• Provide guidance and training to supervisors on discipline, company policies, and people management practices.
• Support employee engagement and welfare initiatives across the organization.
• Prepare HR reports and support management with workforce planning and operational HR matters.
• Assist in the implementation of Human Capital projects and initiatives aimed at improving organizational efficiency and employee engagement.
• Support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of HR projects, including organizational improvements, policy reviews, and process enhancements.
• Participate in cross-functional projects with other departments to support operational and strategic objectives.

Qualifications & Experience
• Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management or any other related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position, and proficient in Labour legislation

• A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment
• Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Self-motivated, resourceful, inquisitive, proactive, well-organized and positive work attitude
• Agility and ability to adapt to a changing business environment
• Ability to deal with confidential/sensitive information, demonstrating a high degree of honesty and integrity
• Ability to maintain high standard of service level
• Valid driving license
