SIMPEC have been awarded the main procurement and construction contract for the residue filtration stage 2 project at Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery, which will involve delivering infrastructure and services to increase processing capacity.

We're seeking an experienced HSE Coach to join our construction team on site, commencing ASAP to manage the day-to-day health, safety and environment of the project.

This role will be full-time for a duration of approximately 9+ months.

The Role:

  • A proactive, solutions driven approach to managing work health and safety.
  • Auditing compliance against SIMPEC’s integrated management
  • Coaching SIMPEC workers and leadership to excel in their approach to all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Development and review of Safe Environmental Work Method Statements
  • Governance activities and coaching to champion SIMPEC’s Critical Risk Management Guidelines
  • Compile monthly HSE reports
  • Sharing information, suggestions, and observations with project leadership to create consistency in safety standards throughout the operational team and the business unit. ·
  • Investigating and determining the root causes of incidents, hazards and other unsafe conditions on the job site and/or office

About You:

  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
  • 5+ years experience within the resources & construction mining sector
  • Strong understanding of HSE Legislations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent time management skills to achieve proficient and effectiveness in managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and strong communication skills – written and verbal.

Not Mandatory, but highly regarded:

  • Incident Investigation Methodology I.e. ICAM or Taproot)
  • Training and Assessing
  • Auditing qualifications
