Job Description Summary
Contributes to the success of Transitional Studies by supporting students enrolled in Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes and pathway programs, including High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation, SOAR, workforce pathway courses, and Madison campus offerings. Facilitates student recruitment, enrollment, class placement, and educational progress testing. Monitors attendance data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and student retention. Provides individualized guidance to students regarding educational goals, academic progress, and support service needs. Teaches up to six instructional hours per week as needed. Supports program development, outreach efforts and operational activities that promote effective program delivery and student success.
Duties
1. Facilitates student recruitment, enrollment, placement, and educational progress testing for Adult Basic Education (ABE) programs, including High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation, SOAR, workforce pathway programs, and Madison campus offerings. Provides information and support to prospective and current students and collaborates with college departments and community partners to promote student access, engagement, and success.2. Assists in the coordination of enrollment, orientation, placement testing, and onboarding for Adult Basic Education, Workforce Pathway program and Madison Campus students.3. Teaches up to 6 hours per week as needed.4. Monitors attendance, academic progress, and student engagement; implement outreach and intervention strategies to support student success.5. Provides individualized guidance to students regarding educational goals, academic progress, workforce pathways, and available campus and community resources.6. Maintains accurate student records and program data; enters, verifies, reconciles and monitors information across multiple systems to endure data quality, and compliance with institutional, state and federal requirements.7. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.8. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Education, Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, Student Affairs, Workforce Development, or related field.
2. One year of full-time or equivalent work experience providing student support, advising, case management, education, workforce development, human services or related services.
3. One year of full-time or equivalent work experience in Literacy, Basic Skills/College and Career Readiness Developmental Education, Special Education, Career & Technical Education, WIOA Funded Programs, or closely related field.
4. One year of full-time or equivalent work experience using databases, student information systems, or other data management systems to maintain records and support program operations.5. Experience working effectively with diverse adult populations. Preferred Qualifications 1. Two years or more of full-time or equivalent work experience in adult education, community college, workforce development, student services or related field.2. Experience working with WIOA Title II or other federally or state-funded education or workforce programs.3. Experience providing educational planning, academic advising, career pathway guidance, or case management services.4. One year of full-time or equivalent teaching experience.5. Experience working with justice-involved students, multilingual learners, students with disabilities, or other underserved adult populations.
6. Proficiency in English and one or more languages commonly spoken by Transitional Studies students, such as Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, or American Sign Language (ASL).
