Wood is currently sourcing for a Marine Mechanical Fitter with FPSO / Maritime Industry with sea background experience to join our client team in Equatorial Guinea offshore.
The position will be responsible for carrying out maintenance of the engine room equipment with minimal environmental impact in accordance with statutory, class and flag requirements. To strip out overhaul / refurbish and install mechanical equipment for vessels, using knowledge of mechanical, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
Location: offshore Equatorial Guinea
Rotation \ Work Pattern: 5 weeks on \ 5 weeks off, 7-day week \ 12-hour day
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience of working with ships, vessels. Read and understand basic layout and assembly drawings, to class society rules / standards
- Good understanding of shipbuilding/ship repair practices. Understands Works specifications. Understand equipment manuals and installation guides
- Must have experience of working with engines, steam systems, pump systems, deck machinery, hydraulics systems
- To be able to set up carry out alignment and dimensional control checks
- To adhere to companies lifting and rigging plans and policies as well as Permit to work system as the responsible technician
- Must be able to work with equipment lathes, radial & bench drills, bore/milling tools, alignment equipment
- Identify and report any additional or variation to specification scopes of work to line management
- Diversification working with other trades in a support level
- Ensure standards of good housekeeping are achieved in all work areas, including workshops, stores, and at on site locations
- To maintain servicing, repairs and maintenance of Company machinery and equipment is carried out periodically in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations as per SAP recommendations
- Carry out duties with minimum supervision using own initiative to plan and prioritise workload within set timescales
- To assist Management in ensuring that all tools/equipment issued are accounted for and traceable to prevent financial loss to the Company
- Ensure all safety, regulatory, rule and Company changes/alterations to working practises are adhered to and that all necessary records and inspections are maintained at all times to comply with current legislation and company Management of change process
- In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all employees must be flexible in their approach and undertake other duties, wherever they may be, to achieve the objectives of Trident

Essential requirements for this role:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or qualifications as a marine fitter through proof of training and experience
- Must have experience of mechanical equipment installation and repair methods
- Must have several years minimum trade experience in the marine industry
- All Offshore oil & gas and marine certification and training as required
Job Specific Skills:
- Several years minimum trade experience in the marine industry
- Must be able to interpret technical drawings, schematic parts manuals and diagrams and associated technical data & specifications
- PSV training and certification
- Be part of the emergency response team as required
- Skilled on Lathe Machine
- FPSO / Maritime Industry with sea background
- Read and interpret blueprints and working drawings.
- Plan mechanical work and make estimates of materials required
- Able to weld and undertake welding tasks
