SummaryA Social Work Program Support Specialist works with both children and adult services staff in a supportive role by coordinating and facilitating Child and Family Team Meetings, completing case reviews, providing feedback on the findings of reviews, and helping to ensure the agency is following state and federal guidelines.Job responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and facilitating Child and Family Team meetings that involve agency staff, families working with the department, family support systems, and community partners
- Completing case reviews on child welfare and adult services
- Gathering and preparing cases for State and Federal reviews
- Assisting with completing background checks, organizing cases, scanning information, and supporting adult and children services programs as needed
Knowledge of child welfare policies and legal mandates
Knowledge of adult services policies and legal mandates
Knowledge of social work, practices, and principles
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Communication skills
Organizational skills
Critical thinking skills
Must be available to work after normal business hours and during emergency situations. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution;
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience;
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years’ directly related experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
