The Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) team is accountable for developing, implementing, and leading the Group’s financial crime shared services. FCC leads the Group’s approach to managing AML/CTF, sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption risks and obligations.

Do work that matters
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Customer Escalations, you will provide services to support the Group in the effective and efficient management of financial crime. This will mean working closely with stakeholders and colleagues to provide financial crime related advice on customer escalations and any strategic projects.
Your contribution will safeguard our Customers and the Group through the disruption of Financial Crime related activities. This will be achieved by ensuring the Groups risk appetite in the management of financial crime risk is applied in a consistent manner across the Customer population.
In this role, you will play a key part in leading complex financial crime escalations, applying sound judgement to customer risk matters, and supporting consistent decision-making across the Group.
On any given day, you will
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of customer escalations referred by Financial Crime Operations (FCO) or Business Unit (BU) teams.
Provide prompt decisioning of customer escalations for the Group.
Support internal stakeholders across the Group to proactively identify, manage, and mitigate the financial crime risks of the business.
Lead, coach and develop team members, fostering a high performing and collaborative culture.
Prompt escalation of financial crime related matters to the relevant FCC stakeholders as necessary.
Identify potential improvement and/or efficiency opportunities across the team.
Assist in the development and delivery of relevant MI reporting, including insights on financial crime themes and trends identified through the escalation process.
Provide feedback to the Quality Assurance (QA) team to support reviews of escalations completed by the team and help ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
Monitor emerging sanctions risks, regulatory developments and industry trends to identify impacts to the Group where appropriate.
Provide training and reference materials to FCO on trends and themes identified as required.
We’d love to hear from people who have
In depth experience in a compliance, AML / CTF, FCO, Sanctions, Fraud and/or ABC role (essential).
Understanding of the financial crime regulatory framework, with technical knowledge of the AML/CTF, sanctions, and ABC risk environment.
Proven people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, financial crime, or risk management, or relevant certifications or accreditations.
