A little more about your role…
We are expanding our Civil & Structural Engineering team across the Energy Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector and are seeking talented professionals at all levels, from Engineer and Senior Engineer through to Associate and Associate Director.
As part of our growing Energy business, you will work on some of the UK's most significant electricity infrastructure projects.
Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design and construction support. Depending on your experience level, you will take increasing responsibility for technical delivery, design leadership, design management, client engagement and team development.
What you'll be doing...
Depending on your level and experience, your responsibilities may include:
Delivering civil and structural engineering design services across major Energy T&D projects.
Designing reinforced concrete foundations, structural steelwork, buildings, retaining structures, drainage systems and site infrastructure.
Supporting or leading the civil and structural design of substations, HVDC converter stations and associated power infrastructure.
Coordinating multidisciplinary design activities
Producing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, specifications and drawings.
Ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards and Safety in Design principles.
Supporting project planning, risk management, programme delivery and resource forecasting.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
Supporting business development activities, proposals and tender submissions.
Mentoring and developing graduate and early-career engineers.
Driving technical excellence, innovation, digital delivery and continuous improvement across projects.
For more experienced candidates, opportunities exist to:
Act as Lead Engineer, Design Manager or Discipline Lead
Provide technical governance and design assurance across major infrastructure programmes.
Lead multidisciplinary teams and complex design packages.
Support capability growth, recruitment, succession planning and strategic business development.

What we'll be looking for you to demonstrate...
We are seeking individuals with strong technical capability, a collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering infrastructure that supports the energy transition.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of civil and/or structural engineering principles.
Experience, or a desire to develop experience, within the Energy, Power, Utilities or Infrastructure sectors.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Commitment to engineering excellence, quality and Safety in Design.
For Principal Engineer, Associate and Associate Director Levels
Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE, IStructE or an equivalent professional institution, or actively progressing towards chartership.
Demonstrable experience delivering complex infrastructure or energy projects.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities and design interfaces.
Strong understanding of engineering governance, quality management and design assurance processes.
Experience managing clients, project delivery, budgets and programmes.
Proven leadership and mentoring capability.
We'd particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Transmission & Distribution infrastructure.
Electrical substations (132kV–400kV+).
HVDC converter stations.
Overhead Line (OHL) infrastructure.
Underground cable projects.
Renewable energy developments.
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
Earthworks, drainage and site development.
Industrial and process facilities.
Design Assurance Engineers (DAs) and Contractor Design Assurance Engineers (CDAEs) roles.
Digital engineering and BIM-enabled delivery.
