Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Oracle DBA Consultant to lead our DBA team and provide technical expertise across Oracle database environments supporting our healthcare solutions, including WinPath, PathManager and Cyberlab.

This role combines team leadership, customer consultancy, project delivery and hands-on Oracle database administration. You will work closely with Technical Services, Development, Service Desk, Sales and Project Management teams to deliver high-quality customer implementations, upgrades, migrations and support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide Professional Services Consultancy leadership for all members of the DBA Team

  • Lead and mentor the DBA team, driving performance, consistency and best practice.

  • Manage resource planning, utilisation and delivery against project objectives.

  • Install, configure, upgrade and patch Oracle databases and related technologies.

  • Design and maintain backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions using RMAN.

  • Lead database migrations, upgrades, tuning and performance optimisation activities.

  • Provide technical consultancy, database sizing and infrastructure recommendations for customers.

  • Support customer implementations and resolve complex database-related issues.

  • Collaborate with Development teams to improve scalability, performance and reliability.

  • Contribute to pre-sales activities, technical proposals and solution design.

  • Deliver Oracle knowledge-sharing and training across technical teams.

  • Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota.

AI & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve operational efficiency and customer outcomes.

  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with AI adoption, including data quality, bias and governance.

  • Promote practical and value-driven use of AI across Technical Services and Solution Architecture teams.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong Oracle Database Administration experience.

  • Expertise in database backup, recovery, performance tuning and optimisation.

  • Experience with Oracle RAC, RMAN and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

  • Proven leadership or team management experience.

  • Strong customer-facing consultancy and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within healthcare or laboratory information systems.

  • Knowledge of WinPath, PathManager or Cyberlab.

  • Experience supporting large-scale customer implementations and upgrades.

  • Understanding of AI technologies and their practical application in enterprise environments.

This role requires a working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and the ability to leverage them to improve processes and outcomes. A core understanding of AI concepts is required and must be able to demonstrate the use of AI tools in a professional setting.

Onboarding
As part of our onboarding process, all new employees will be required to attend / travel to the office on their first day of employment. This requirement is essential for onboarding activities, including the identity verification, completion of necessary documentation, receiving your IT equipment, introductions to key team members, and orientation to Clinisys policies and procedures.
