The Grounds Maintenance Team Member will perform regular and direct grounds and landscape maintenance. Will assist with loading and unloading equipment, plumbing repairs, stuck truck removal, snow plowing, mowing, equipment maintenance and operating small equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Repair and overhaul heavy equipment, automobiles, tractors, trucks, and other farm equipment vehicles  
    • Repair new and existing equipment such as load chutes, hydraulic trailers, mowers, etc. 
    • Maintain a daily work log of all projects. 
    • Strive to maintain excellent safety records, housekeeping, and personal conduct. 
    • Assist the department in maintaining part lists for projects and obtain estimates for supplies and repair parts as needed.  
    • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required by supervisor. 
    • Examine and inspect vehicles and discuss with Grounds Maintenance Superintendent the nature and extent of damage or malfunction. 
    • Repair diesel engines and/or perform heavy equipment repairs.  
    • Service company equipment such as oil changes, grease and/or lubrication. 
    • Complete vehicle maintenance and repair logs.    
    • Remove and disassemble units such as engine, transmission, or differential and inspect parts for wear.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred.  Ability to write simple correspondence preferred.   
  • A valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required. 
  • Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred but not necessary.
