(Senior) Scientist, Formulation and Materials Science

Join our Formulation and Materials Science team in Shanghai and help shape the future of delivery technologies for fragrance, flavor, nutrition, health, beauty, and care applications. In this role, you will apply your expertise in formulation science, polymer materials, and physical chemistry to develop innovative solutions that create meaningful value for customers. You will collaborate with global scientific and business teams, contribute to cutting-edge research, and turn scientific discoveries into practical applications. Your key responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to global, cross-functional innovation projects in collaboration with research, development, and business teams.
- Design, plan, and execute research programs, including experimental work, data analysis, documentation, and communication of results.
- Develop novel delivery systems and formulation strategies that enhance product performance across health, beauty, and care applications.
- Monitor scientific and technology trends, identify new opportunities, and incorporate relevant insights into innovation projects and intellectual property development.
- Provide technical guidance within the team while ensuring laboratory activities are conducted in compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Support customer-facing activities and work closely with business partners to address technical challenges and deliver effective solutions.

You Bring
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Science, Food Science, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong research experience in formulation science, delivery technologies, encapsulation, polymer processing, or related fields.
- Proven laboratory expertise and hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as thermal analysis, light scattering, rheology, or similar methods.
- Ability to design experiments, interpret complex data, and translate scientific findings into practical formulation solutions.
- Experience in consumer products, flavors and fragrances, nutrition, beauty, or personal care industries is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, along with a collaborative and innovative mindset.
