Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and provide plant automation strategy and roadmap
  • Design, develop and deliver automation solution/ fixtures and new technologies to meet different project requirement
  • Lead and/or direct technician resources in the improvement of equipment and process
  • Achieve low-cost manufacturing, superior quality/service and improved capability/capacity
  • Manage equipment and maintenance technician to perform TS, TPM to ensure the reliability of the equipment, keep technicians’ high motivation and efficiency
  • Coordinate multiple project leaders to deliver on key plant objectives.
  • Work with engineering and production team to identify the opportunities for further improvement. Lead the improvement project.
  • Manage and communicate status of key engineering initiatives that drive manufacturing performance
  • Develop equipment/tooling maintenance program and reporting system. Make recommendations for equipment and tooling improvement. Provide training to maintenance team
  • Build effective relationships with division engineering, division manufacturing, and commercial (as necessary) in support of execution of the plant engineering strategy
  • Provide focus and direction to direct reports to ensure professional development
  • Develop technical capabilities in engineering organization. Champion use of scientific method to determine and resolve process upset root cause and increase process fundamental understanding within department
  • Ensure effective process and equipment change control management
Experiences/Education - Required

-    Bachelor and /or above 
-    Major in Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related fields;
-    At least 5 years of experience in equipment engineering, automation equipment development, or manufacturing engineering;
-    Hands-on experience in independently leading automation equipment projects, with the ability to drive the full process from requirement definition to final delivery;
-    Strong capability in automation solution planning and implementation, with the ability to develop practical solutions based on manufacturing needs;
-    Background in mechanical design or electrical design, with the ability to review and optimize mechanical structures and electrical/control design solutions;

-    Demonstrated track record of engineering / technical accomplishment such as delivery of sustainable incremental improvement, step change in capability / performance, etc
-    Demonstrated delivery of results through project or organizational leadership
-    Demonstrated track record (Performance Results and People Development)
-    Experience in operations and/or engineering with progressive responsibilities
