What we do at Blykalla

Blykalla is a Swedish deep-tech company at the forefront of the nuclear industry, pioneering the development of small modular reactors that provide clean, safe, and reliable energy. Thanks to lead-cooling, we achieve high safety in a very compact format, allowing for a simple and cost-effective design that can be mass-produced. Our unique reactor design will provide safe and green baseload energy that perfectly complements solar and wind power.

What you’ll get to do

Blykalla is developing and commercializing lead-cooled Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) to provide safe, reliable, and fossil-free energy. Our mission is to deploy advanced nuclear technology that enables the decarbonization of industry and supports long-term energy security.

Reliable and accurate instrumentation is fundamental to the safe operation of any nuclear power plant. As Blykalla develops its lead-cooled SMR technology, we are building an in-house instrumentation capability to define, specify, and integrate the measurement systems that provide the data required for plant control, protection, monitoring, diagnostics, and regulatory compliance.

We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to lead the specification, integration, and lifecycle management of instrumentation systems for Blykalla's lead-cooled SMR.

This role will be responsible for defining instrumentation requirements, ensuring that measurement systems meet the demanding requirements of reactor operation while working closely with automation, control systems, electrical, mechanical, process, and safety engineers.

Who you’ll get to work with

The Senior Instrumentation Engineer sits in the Plant Engineering Team within Blykalla, and reports to the Plant engineering manager. We are a diverse team that is passionate about our work and Blykalla.
