Job purpose
The Lead Specialist, Autonomous Platforms will lead specialized technical solutions within Sustainability & Resource Growth, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of autonomous platforms that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and innovation. The role manages complex initiatives, ensures scalability and reliability of autonomous systems, and enables business value through advanced technologies and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Accountabilities
1. Autonomous Platform Architecture & Design
- Lead the design of autonomous platform architectures, including integration of robotics, IoT, AI, and control systems.
- Define technical standards, design patterns, and system architectures aligned with enterprise and innovation strategies.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, modular, and aligned with future technology roadmaps.
2. Solution Development & Implementation
- Lead technical design and implementation of autonomous platforms and systems.
- Guide multidisciplinary delivery teams (engineering, data/AI, operations) to ensure correct and effective implementation.
- Oversee deployment of autonomous capabilities into operational environments, ensuring reliability and usability.
3. Integration Across Technology Layers
- Ensure seamless integration across sensors, control systems, data platforms, and analytics layers.
- Coordinate integration between OT (Operational Technology) and IT systems to enable real-time and intelligent operations.
- Resolve technical dependencies and system interoperability challenges.
4. Performance, Reliability & Safety
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and resilience of autonomous systems.
- Define monitoring frameworks, operational performance benchmarks, and KPIs.
- Ensure solutions comply with safety standards and operational risk requirements, especially in industrial environments.
5. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise governance frameworks, cybersecurity requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Identify and manage risks related to autonomous systems deployment and scaling.
- Support architecture and technical reviews to ensure compliance and quality.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment
- Collaborate with Innovation, Operations, Engineering, and Data & AI teams to ensure integrated delivery.
- Translate business and operational requirements into technical autonomous platform solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and influence decision-making across stakeholders.
7. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement of autonomous platform capabilities, tools, and methodologies.
- Identify and assess emerging technologies such as AI-driven automation, robotics, digital twins, and edge computing.
- Support innovation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and value realization.
Minimum Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8–10 years of experience in autonomous systems, robotics, industrial automation, or advanced technology environments.
- Proven experience designing or implementing autonomous or semi-autonomous platforms.
Minimum Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in database development, data engineering, or analytics environments.
- Experience in designing and managing data marts, relational databases, and data warehouse environments.
