Job Description:
As one of our Oxford Tube Customer Ambassadors, you will be representing our brand, embracing the needs of the customer and going to extra mile to exceed expectations. Always putting the customer needs first, your friendly and approachable personality combined with your ability to assist with enquiries and ticket sales, will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and helpful environment for our customers before they board our London bound Oxford Tube services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage with customers with confidence to create an environment that is warm, friendly and reassuring
- Offer clear and accurate information regarding Oxford Tube, onward Stagecoach connections, journey planning, fares and tickets
- Become the Oxford Tube expert, providing a professional response to any customer challenges and feeding back any frequent popular issues to the wider Oxford Tube team
- Be aware of the wider bus network in Oxfordshire and be prepared to respond to enquiries
- Support the Oxford Tube team of controllers and drivers during busy periods to help smooth boarding in a professional, calm and efficient manner with the customer front of mind at all times
- Provide sales support through the selling of tickets for the Oxford Tube and a variety of other services where applicable, handling cash and card transactions responsibly and reconcile takings at the end of a shift
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area, upholding Oxford Tube’s high standards of presentation
- Report customer feedback, safety issues or concerns to supervisory / management teams.
- Predominantly working outside at key boarding points, supporting our customers and people where required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
The successful candidate must:
- Have proven experience in a customer service, retail or a similar customer facing role
- Have strong interpersonal skills, be a natural communicator and have a professional and helpful attitude
- Be comfortable using basic technology (i.e. retailing software, payment systems, mobile apps) but training will be provided
- Be punctual, reliable and take pride in delivering exceptional service
The following skills are desirable:
- Familiarity with Oxford, London, and surrounding areas
- Additional language skills are beneficial
- Face to face customer complaint handling training or experience
