Business Lecturer
Make business real. Build confidence. Help students see where it can take them.
Business is everywhere.
It shapes the jobs people do, the organisations they work in, the decisions they make and the opportunities they can access. Good business teaching helps students understand that world and see their place in it.
As our Business Lecturer, you’ll help students understand how organisations work, how decisions are made and how business knowledge can open doors to further study, university, apprenticeships and employment.
You’ll teach across Business programmes, bringing theory to life through current examples, employer insight, case studies, digital tools and practical activity. You’ll help students build knowledge, confidence and professional habits, not just complete assignments.
You may already be an experienced teacher. You may be a business professional who has trained, coached or supported others and is ready to move into education.
Either route is welcome.
What matters is that you can make business clear, relevant and engaging, and that you want students to leave with the confidence to take their next step.
Someone who thought they were “not a numbers person” starts to understand the logic behind bookkeeping. A learner who lacked confidence begins to trust their calculations. An apprentice connects classroom learning with the finance tasks they complete at work. A student sees a route into a career they had not thought was possible.
At Wigan & Leigh College, you’ll help create those moments.
You’ll work with learners who are developing practical, professional skills that employers value. You’ll help them prepare for AAT assessments, but also for the expectations of real finance roles: accuracy, deadlines, judgement, communication and attention to detail.
You’ll be part of a college that values technical and professional education. We’ll support you to develop as a teacher, keep your industry knowledge current and help learners move confidently into their next step.
This is a role for someone who understands that accounting is not just about numbers. It is about helping people make sense of information, make good decisions and build futures with strong professional skills.
