Job Title: Graduate Site Engineer
Reporting to: Construction Manager

Purpose of the Position:
The Graduate Site Engineer will support the delivery of construction and infrastructure projects by providing technical engineering assistance on-site. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and project teams, the role will develop practical engineering skills in setting out, surveying, quality assurance, health and safety compliance, and project coordination. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience while ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards
Responsibilities & Duties:
Including but not limited to the following:
· Assist with setting out site boundaries, levels, and survey positions using industry-standard surveying equipment.
· Support the monitoring and verification of construction works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
· Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
· Assist in maintaining accurate site records, including progress reports, site diaries, surveys, and quality documentation.
· Support the management of subcontractors and site operatives to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
· Monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
· Provide technical support to site teams and help resolve engineering and construction issues.
· Assist with material requisitions, resource planning, and project scheduling activities.
· Participate in site inspections, quality checks, and project reviews.
· Liaise with project managers, design teams, clients, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building Engineering, or a related discipline.
Essential Skills and Experience
Understanding of engineering and construction principles.
Familiarity with surveying equipment such as Total Stations and GPS systems.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project.
Awareness of construction legislation, building regulations, and health and safety requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
Placement year, internship, or work experience within an engineering or construction environment.
Knowledge of utility, infrastructure, or energy projects.
Full UK driving licence.
