Job Purpose
The Technical Sales Representative (TSR) serves as the primary technical and commercial interface between Weatherford Artificial Lift Solutions and customers throughout the Permian Basin. The TSR is responsible for driving profitable growth by identifying customer challenges, developing technically differentiated solutions, and delivering measurable production and economic value through the ALS portfolio.
Under Weatherford's Product Line-led operating model, the TSR reports directly to the Product Line Manager and acts as a trusted advisor to customer production, completion, facility, and asset teams. The role combines technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strategic account development to expand Weatherford's market position and support long-term growth objectives.
This position requires knowledge of artificial lift applications, production optimization, field operations, and customer workflows, with a strong focus on value creation, operational excellence, and technology adoption.
Roles & Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Business Development
- Serve as the primary technical sales contact for assigned customers and territory.
- Develop and execute growth plans aligned with Product Line and Geozone objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with production engineers, operations managers, completions teams, artificial lift specialists, and executive decision-makers.
- Lead customer technical reviews, solution workshops, lunch-and-learns, and technology presentations.
- Identify opportunities to expand Weatherford's footprint through cross-selling and integrated solutions.
- Understand customer business drivers and position Weatherford technologies to improve production performance and economic outcomes.
- Develop customer-specific value propositions supported by technical and financial analysis.
- Support the account management team in strategic account planning and opportunity prioritization.
Technical Leadership
- Develop expert knowledge of Weatherford's ALS portfolio including:
- Rod Lift
- Pumping Units/Rotaflex
- Continuous Rod
- Conduct well reviews, system diagnostics, and application evaluations.
- Recommend solutions that improve production, reliability, safety, and operating efficiency.
- Support field trials, technology introductions, and pilot projects.
- Provide technical recommendations during tender preparation, bid evaluations, and customer solution reviews.
- Gather and communicate customer application requirements to Product Line leadership.
Commercial Excellence
- Own the technical sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through award and implementation.
- Build, maintain, and manage a healthy sales pipeline utilizing Salesforce (SFDC).
- Support preparation of proposals, tenders, commercial offers, and technical presentations.
- Develop pricing recommendations consistent with margin and growth objectives.
- Identify and address revenue gaps to achieve annual operating plan targets.
- Work closely with Product Line leadership, Operations, and Account Managers to convert opportunities into revenue.
- Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly business reviews.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor market activity, competitor positioning, pricing trends, and emerging technologies.
- Gather competitive intelligence and communicate findings to Product Line leadership.
- Identify market opportunities and application gaps to support future technology development.
- Support deployment of strategic initiatives within the Permian Basin.
- Assist in evaluating new market segments, applications, and growth opportunities.
Operations & Service Quality
- Collaborate with Operations, Technical Managers, and Service Delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Support root cause investigations and customer issue resolution.
- Ensure customer expectations are clearly communicated and achieved.
- Promote safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all Weatherford activities.
- Maintain service quality as a core priority across all interactions and projects.
Quality, Compliance & Risk Management
- Adhere to Weatherford's Quality Management System and business processes.
- Utilize approved sales and proposal platforms including Salesforce and XAIT-Porter.
- Understand commercial, operational, technical, and compliance risks associated with opportunities.
- Support implementation of mitigation plans to reduce business and operational risk.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, trade regulations, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
People Development & Collaboration
- Support technical development of internal sales and operations personnel.
- Provide product line training and mentoring where appropriate.
- Promote collaboration between Product Line, Operations, Account Management, and Supply Chain teams.
- Actively participate in product, commercial, negotiation, and leadership training programs.
- Foster a culture aligned with Weatherford values, accountability, safety, and customer focus.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline. [Technical...ssa JD (1) | Word]
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of Artificial Lift, Production Optimization, or Oilfield Operations experience.
- Technical sales experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of Permian Basin operating practices.
- Demonstrated success in customer-facing technical roles.
- Experience developing production enhancement and economic justification recommendations.
Knowledge & Skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Artificial Lift application engineering experience.
- Existing Permian Basin customer relationships.
- Experience with production optimization software (XSPOC, RODSTAR, Prosper, GAP, OFM, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting integrated production systems and digital solutions.
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or Product Line Champion responsibilities.
Travel Requirements
- Domestic travel up to 25% throughout the Permian Basin and other North American locations as required.
