As a Performance Superintendent you will need to support the effective and efficient function of the Fleet Performance Centre and build up BSM’s capability to oversee vessel efficiency and performance by establishing and implementing operational standards. Support and guide where needed, to provide the best possible decision support for optimizing the operation of BSM managed vessels to achieve the desired operational excellence in accordance with relevant legislation, industry best practice, quality standards and BSM sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities :

Ensure proper evaluation of performance of vessels and majorly responsible for the communication and training of shore and sea employees to bring them up to speed with developments in PAL and the regulations at large. Devise innovative ways for the effectiveness of the above.

Ensure that the Savings potential of the fleet is relayed to the fleet teams through more focus on the Power BI tool, understand the gaps and propose solutions and recommendations to bring it to tangible numbers.

Assist in ensuring the SMCs are satisfied with the FPC services and there are no gaps in our systems that pose a challenge in supporting the services.

Ensure that the team of vessel handlers have a strong reputation in the group and SMC’s and to have effective communication and rapport with the fleet teams and ensure that the monthly connects are more binding and reach a level where it is a support function that the fleet teams don’t want to miss plus innovative ideas.

Run pilot projects and initiatives within the team to address gaps in KPI’s including VPR and baselines which are noticed and make a timeline for resolution and address the action plan to the Assistant Manager and Head of Fleet Performance.

Identify gaps and improvements needed in reporting quality and training, presentations for seminars, both shore and vessel staff, and suggest to the Head of Fleet Performance.

Responsible for the delivery of the relevant projects delegated for the year and the FPC Road Map and all other delegated tasks as required by the Head of Fleet Performance which are related to increasing the performance and optimization of the fleet.

Qualifications & Experience :

MSc, BS/MS, MEng in Marine Engineering and/or Naval Architecture or equivalent

High GPA score

Job Specific Skills :

  • Good technical knowledge of ship construction and marine machinery

  • Working knowledge of relevant classification and statutory requirements

  • Fluency in English

  • High level of computer literacy

  • Good communication skills
