SummaryResponsible for providing nursing care to clients on assigned area. Supervises/directs subordinate nursing personnel - e.g. nursing assistants per RN directive. Responsible for assisting the RN in a variety of client care activities. Completes delegated work-related tasks as assigned by the RN.This full-time, day shift LPN position is designated to primarily work in the crisis stabilization/CBRF unit. Examples of dutiesAdministers and documents medications and treatments on the electronic MAR as prescribed by physicians and according to established nursing policy/procedure. Makes rounds with physician and completes order entry in Avatar under supervision of the Registered Nurse. Maintains current information on new medications, dosages and side effects. Provides medication teaching with client/family as indicated in client care plan and as directed by the Registered Nurse. Provides nursing care to meet the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the client. Participates in the development of client care plans. Implements provisions of client care plan. Observes and documents change in client behavior/condition and inform RN accordingly. Participates in emergency or crisis situations as directed by the Registered Nurse. Assists with admissions, discharges and transfer of clients. Maintains records, reports and documentation in accordance with departmental standards. Maintains a clean, comfortable and safe environment for clients. Assists in creating a therapeutic atmosphere on the client unit. Maintains effective working relationships with other employees. Attends and participates in staff meetings, mandatory in-services and other educational programs. Perform related functions as assigned. QualificationsEducation and Experience:
Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing program. Current licensure as Licensed Practical Nurse. In addition, must meet the following requirement:
Basic computer skills
Licenses and Certifications:
Current license from Wisconsin as Licensed Practical Nurse
