Β Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out minor periodic vehicle servicing and maintenance in accordance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOPs.
- Inspect, repair, or replace worn and faulty vehicle components according to assigned job orders.
- Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) to ensure vehicles meet required quality and safety standards.
- Use vehicle diagnostic scanning tools (VDS) to read, identify, and erase fault codes as required.
- Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians with repair and diagnostic activities as required.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills by attending formal training sessions and keeping up to date with rapidly evolving automotive technologies.
- Maintain an inventory of standard technician tools and ensure they are properly maintained and available for use.
- Provide clear and accurate write-ups of tasks performed, highlight relevant comments, and immediately report any safety-related concerns to the superior.
- Accurately clock in and out against assigned job orders in accordance with standard procedures.
- Coordinate with the Workshop Controller regarding vehicle status and liaise with the Parts Advisor to obtain the correct parts required for repairs.
- Follow instructions from the superior in line with company policies, MG guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appropriate appearance at all times.
- Maintain company assets, tools, and equipment responsibly.
- Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
- Comply with all applicable Health, Safety, and Quality procedures and regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.
Role Purpose
To service, maintain, inspect, and repair vehicles in accordance with MG manufacturer guidelines and company SOPs, ensuring high-quality workmanship, vehicle reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as an Automotive Technician, Service Technician, or in a similar capacity.
Education: High Diploma or Diploma in Automotive Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Certification: Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification is required.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of periodic vehicle maintenance, basic mechanical repairs, vehicle PDI processes, and automotive diagnostic scanning tools. Ability to identify and replace worn or faulty vehicle components.
Languages: Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are preferred.
Computer Skills: Computer literate with the ability to use relevant workshop and vehicle diagnostic systems.
Equipment Knowledge: Basic knowledge of telephone and computer operations, along with the ability to use standard automotive workshop tools and equipment.
