Project Manager - (Deepwater) - MPD

Job Summary

Weatherford is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager – Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) to lead a prestigious deepwater MPD project in Indonesia. Based in Jakarta with regular travel to the project site in Papua, this role will serve as the primary focal point for the client and be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of one of Asia's most significant offshore MPD projects. This position requires an established MPD professional with extensive hands-on experience managing deepwater drilling projects, strong client engagement skills, and the ability to lead complex offshore operations from project initiation through execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of Weatherford's high-profile deepwater MPD project in Indonesia.
• Act as the primary client interface, conducting daily operational meetings and building strong long-term customer relationships.
• Provide leadership throughout all phases of the project, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time delivery.
• Conduct regular management visits to the offshore rig to oversee operations and support the field team.
• Ensure the successful preparation, mobilization, shipment, and readiness of all MPD equipment.
• Serve as the technical authority for Weatherford MPD systems, including Integrated Riser Joint (IRJ), Topside MPD Equipment, and RCD Gen 2/3, and confidently present technical solutions to customers.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, logistics, and commercial teams to deliver project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with Weatherford HSE, quality, and operational standards.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and performance while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or related discipline).
• Minimum 8–10 years of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) experience.
• Extensive experience leading deepwater MPD projects is mandatory.
• Demonstrated success managing complex offshore deepwater drilling projects as a Project Manager.
• Strong technical expertise in offshore MPD systems, pressure control, and deepwater well construction.
• Proven experience with Integrated Riser Joint (IRJ), Topside MPD Equipment, and RCD Gen 2/3 is highly preferred.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills with experience serving as the primary customer focal point.
• Experience managing project mobilization, logistics, equipment preparation, and offshore operations.
• Willingness to travel regularly between Jakarta and Papua, including offshore rig visits.
