We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience in enterprise reporting, data analytics, cloud data platforms, and report modernization.

This role requires strong hands-on experience with Cloud Data Warehouses, Data Analytics and Reporting tools, along with working knowledge of legacy reporting technologies. The candidate will lead the enterprise reporting solutions partnering with Data Architects, Data Product Owners, business stakeholders, leadership, and engineering team members.

What you will do:

  • Provide technical leadership for report discovery, assessment, consolidation, modernization, migration, and decommissioning.

  • Analyze the existing reporting landscape to identify duplicate, obsolete, underused, and business-critical reports.

  • Lead the transformation of legacy reports into modern reporting and analytics solutions.

  • Partner with Data Architects to ensure reporting solutions align with enterprise data architecture, security, governance, and performance standards.

  • Collaborate with Data Product Owners and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, business rules, usage patterns, and critical data dependencies.

  • Translate business reporting requirements into scalable technical designs, data models, transformation logic, and implementation plans.

  • Design and optimize data pipelines, queries, semantic layers, datasets, and reporting structures.

  • Perform source-to-target analysis and document data lineage, transformation rules, report dependencies, and reconciliation requirements.

  • Ensure migrated reports maintain functional accuracy and consistency with legacy report outputs.

  • Define testing and validation approaches, including data reconciliation, regression testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing.

  • Identify and resolve data quality, report performance, and platform integration issues.

  • Establish reusable reporting patterns, development standards, templates, and technical best practices.

  • Support governance processes related to report ownership, access control, auditability, data classification, retention, and lifecycle management.

  • Lead technical discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting sessions.

  • Mentor engineers and provide guidance on modern reporting, cloud data platforms, SQL optimization, and software engineering practices.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, enterprise reporting, business intelligence, data warehousing, or data analytics.

  • Strong experience designing, developing, supporting, or modernizing enterprise reporting solutions.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses, data analytics platforms, relational databases, advanced SQL development, and query optimization.

  • Working knowledge of legacy reporting technologies.

  • Experience analyzing legacy reports, underlying SQL, stored procedures, data sources, business rules, schedules, and downstream dependencies.

  • Strong understanding of reporting architecture, data pipelines, semantic models, metadata management, and data lineage.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex data discrepancies and reconcile report outputs across legacy and modern platforms.

  • Experience working in Agile software delivery environments.

  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with Data Architects, Data Product Owners, business stakeholders, leadership, engineers, analysts, and other team members.

What will set you apart:

  • Experience with modern business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, or equivalent technologies.

  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Step Functions, IAM, CloudWatch, or related services.

  • Experience with data transformation and orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, or equivalent platforms.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and AI-based development tools.

  • Knowledge of data governance, master data management, metadata management, and enterprise security controls.

  • Experience leading large-scale reporting rationalization or business intelligence modernization programs.

  • Familiarity with financial, operational, regulatory, or executive reporting environments.

Base Salary Range

$105,700.00 - $149,275.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
