In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. As an HSE Business Program Specialist with Electrification Service, you'll play a pivotal role in driving HSE excellence across our operations in Moorebank. You'll contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment performance in your assigned area while cultivating a high-performance culture rooted in safety and continuous improvement. By applying your in-depth HSE knowledge, you'll offer practical solutions and strategic advice to support the business, ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence across the entire ABB value chain. Your role and responsibilities

  • Facilitate HSE risk assessments and coordinate the implementation of preventive measures against identified hazards across your assigned area
  • Support the HSE Manager in reporting progress on group-level HSE objectives and KPIs, ensuring alignment with business performance targets
  • Lead incident investigations and drive continuous improvement by capturing and sharing lessons learned and best practices across ABB
  • Develop and execute HSE-related projects, establishing clear objectives and monitoring progress while supporting cultural transformation through behavior change initiatives

Our team dynamics

You'll be joining a collaborative and safety-focused team within ABB's Electrification Service Division. Working closely with line managers, supervisors, and employees across multiple levels, you'll contribute to building a strong HSE culture where every team member's input is valued. Your role will involve partnering with external stakeholders—including customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities—to raise awareness of HSE performance and gain commitment to continuous improvement. You'll have the opportunity to influence organizational change through training, engagement, and the development of shared ownership of safety and environmental excellence.

Qualifications for the role

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in HSE roles, preferably within manufacturing, service, or industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices, including familiarity with ISO 45001, local workplace health and safety legislation, and risk management frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning with the ability to translate findings into actionable improvements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across organizational levels and build consensus on HSE initiatives
  • Project management capability with experience in planning, executing, and delivering HSE programs or initiatives on time and within scope
  • Proficiency in HSE management systems and tools, with strong data analysis and reporting skills to track KPIs and communicate performance to leadership
  • Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence in health, safety, and environmental management
