This is a unique hybrid opportunity designed to support the team while one of companies drivers is out on medical leave. Initially, your primary responsibility will be making deliveries in non-CDL delivery vehicles. Once that assignment concludes, the right candidate will have the opportunity to continue their career as a full-time Yard Customer Service Representative while also serving as a backup Non-CDL Driver whenever additional delivery support is needed.

What You'll DoDuring the Temporary Driving Assignment
- Safely operate non-CDL delivery vehicles to transport lumber, building materials, and customer orders.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials using forklifts and manual material handling techniques.
- Deliver products safely to residential homes and active construction jobsites.
- Pick up customer returns and verify returned materials.
- Inspect vehicles before and after each shift to ensure safe operation.
- Communicate with dispatch using tablets, smartphones, and delivery software.
- Represent the company professionally while providing exceptional customer service at every stop.
Long-Term Yard & Customer Service Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist with loading orders, returns, and product questions.
- Pull and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Assist delivery drivers with loading, unloading, and processing returns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment.
- Complete order verification, receiving paperwork, and inventory tasks.
- Develop product knowledge and assist customers with locating materials.
- Work collaboratively with the store team to provide an outstanding customer experience.
- Serve as a Non-CDL Driver whenever business needs require additional delivery support or vacation coverage.
This is a hands-on position that combines driving, material handling, customer service, and teamwork every day.
Requirements- Valid medical card and driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience driving box trucks, flatbed trucks, or delivery vehicles preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred (training and certification available).
- Experience handling lumber or building materials is a plus.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and dependable.
- Comfortable using smartphones or tablets for routing, communication, and delivery documentation.
- Ability to work Saturdays as scheduled (with one weekday off).
- Frequently lift and carry up to 80 pounds, with occasional lifts up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and material handling throughout the workday.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and fit-for-duty examination.
