The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
To develop and manage the implementation of operational plans for the section.
To manage the output of the capital analyst team responsible for capital related support, the monitoring and reporting of current and emerging risk pertaining to capital management.
To lead and manage strategic relationships (stakeholders/clients, within the SARB and external).
To manage the delivery of work objectives through resource utilisation, setting of targets, prioritisation of work, and direct other operational activities.
To identify and mitigate risks related to own function and ensure compliance with relevant governance frameworks
To develop a risk-monitoring framework for the identification, monitoring and management of risks to the banking, financial market infrastructure (FMI), and other sectors;
To manage the inputs to the assessment of the macroeconomic environment in collaboration with the Financial Stability department and the detection of the build-up of risks, trends and concentrations in the banking, FMI and other sectors;
To provide integrated management information reports on the banking and FMI and other sectors to internal stakeholders and other relevant authorities.
To participate on local and international committees or forums such as the Basel Committee and specifically its sub-committees and the relevant working groups.
To manage, develop and implement the regulatory and supervisory frameworks, relating to capital management of banks, FMIs and other sectors.
To manage the performance of staff and promote as well as support career management and development
Formal Qualifications/Education:
A minimum of a post graduate qualification or Honours degree (NQF 8) in Accounting, Economics or Finance degree OR equivalent

A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Capital Management in the Banking / FMI environment
