About the position:
Totally Smiles Indooroopilly is currently seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis, with shifts available Monday to Saturday. This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive, dynamic team in a modern 5-chair practice.
Our dentists and team are highly patient-focused, ensuring high-quality treatment and personalised care at every visit. Conveniently located in the heart of Indooroopilly, our practice is easily accessible and close to public transport and the local shopping centre.
In this role, you will report to the Practice Manager and work closely with our dental team. You’ll have the opportunity to further develop your skills and gain valuable hands-on experience in a collaborative and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
- Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
- Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What do you need to succeed:
- Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
- A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
- Attention to detail
