Director of Accounting
Zetier seeks a technically proficient Director of Accounting to own and scale our accounting, financial operations, and financial systems as we grow from 100 to 250 employees. Candidates will combine strong accounting fundamentals with an engineering mindset focused on automation, controls, and reliable financial data. Strong candidates will treat finance systems as operational infrastructure and use software, data, and controls to eliminate manual work and improve decision quality. This role is designed for someone comfortable directly operating accounting systems, investigating discrepancies, building financial models, and writing software, rather than only managing those functions through a team.
Required:
- 8+ years experience in accounting or financial operations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting
- Experience reconciling payroll and general ledger accounts
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Ownership of monthly close and financial reporting
- Software development experience (e.g. Python, Go)
- Experience automating financial or business workflows
- Experience working with financial APIs and structured data
- Effective communication with technical and executive teams
- US citizen able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Desired:
- Built software supporting accounting or business operations
- Familiarity with DCAA, FAR, and cost accounting
- Experience managing indirect rates and cost allocations
- Experience integrating payroll, banking, and accounting systems
- Experience designing financial dashboards and reporting
- Experience with treasury and banking operations
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Active U.S. security clearance
